Q: How long does it take to complete a mixing or mastering project?

A: The timeline for completing a project depends on the complexity and length of the track. Typically, it can take 3 to 5 business days per track. However, I always strive to meet your deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

 

Q: What genres of music do you specialize in?

A: I specialize in electronic music, but I have experience working with a wide range of genres including rock, pop, hip-hop, orchestral and more. My goal is to bring out the best in your music, regardless of the genre.

 

Q: What is your pricing structure?

A: I offer a range of pricing options depending on the specific needs of your project. I can share my pricing and customize a quote based on your requirements. You can submit your project details through the submission form on my website, and I'll provide a tailored quote to match your needs.

 

Q: Can you explain the process of working with you?

A: I will first listen to the track and provide feedback and direction. Once we've agreed on the approach and the invoice is complete, you'll provide me with the audio tracks. I'll then work on the project, keeping you updated throughout the process. Once the initial mix or master is ready, I'll send it to you for feedback. After incorporating any revisions, I'll deliver the final product.

 

Q: Do you offer revisions?

A: Yes, I offer revisions to ensure you are completely satisfied with the final product. You are entitled to two rounds of revisions at no additional cost. After that, a fee will apply for any further revisions. Please note that for stem replacements, I charge an extra fee because I have to recall all my analog gear and run the mix in real time, which can be time-consuming.

 

Q: How should I export stems for mixing, stem mastering, and mastering?

A: For Mixing:

  • Export each individual audio track as a separate stem. Ensure that all tracks are labeled clearly (e.g., “Vocals,” “Drums,” “Bass,” etc.) and that they are all of equal length, starting from the same point in the timeline. This ensures that all stems are in sync when imported into my DAW. Additionally, remove any processing or effects unless they are essential to the sound, and ensure there is no master bus processing (e.g., limiters, compression) applied.
  • For Stem Mastering:
    • Group related elements of your track into 8 stems (e.g., “Drums,” “Bass,” “Synths,” “Vocals,” etc.). Make sure these stems are exported with any essential processing you wish to keep but without master bus processing. Ensure that each stem is labeled appropriately and is the full length of the track, starting from the same point in the timeline.
  • For Stereo Mastering:
    • Export your final mix as a single stereo file. Ensure that the track is without any master bus processing (e.g., limiters or compression) and has a few dB of headroom, meaning it shouldn’t be clipping or overly compressed.

This preparation will help me ensure the best possible quality and smooth workflow for your project.

 

Q: How do I submit my tracks for mixing or mastering?

A: You can submit your tracks via a file-sharing service such as Dropbox, or Google Drive. Make sure to provide high-quality audio files and any specific instructions or references for the sound you’re aiming for.

 

Q: Can I send you reference Tracks?

A: Absolutely! Please send me a few tracks that you'd like your track to sound like sonically, as well as an exported demo mix or master that you've created.

 

Q: Do you offer any discounts for multiple tracks or long-term projects?

A: Yes, I offer discounts for bulk projects and long-term collaborations. Please contact me to discuss your project in detail and we can work out a pricing plan that fits your budget.

 

Q: What if I need a radio edit along with the full track? How do I export it and how much do you charge ?

A: Export the radio edit stems along with the original together in one file, leave enough space between the two versions to distinguish them easily. I charge a small fee of $25 for each extra edit.
